MALA Awards 2021 - Update

 Dear MALA members

Greetings!!! 

You are all aware that MALA has marched forward and crossed many milestones having several programmes to its credit, ever since its inception. Consequently MALA has a proposal for one more innovative programme for which suggestions are invited from the members and requests to extend your support.  It is proposed by some of the members to honour our library professionals who have come a long way and done meritorious service in our profession.  The categories under which the honour will be conferred as have been listed below:

• Best Librarian Award ( it includes professionals from academic, public and special libraries )

• Best Women Librarian Award  

• Best Young Librarian Award

• Best Teacher Award

• Lifetime Achievement Award

• Outstanding Services Award

• Certificate of Appreciation 
  

The major aim of this proposal is to honour our library professionals who deserve to be commended and also to motivate the upcoming younger generation for offering their service to the society with enthusiasm. In general the service of the librarians goes unnoticed and taken for granted by the organizations in which they work.  Hence, MALA, which is a committed professional body, felt its responsibility to take up this task of honouring the dedicated service of our library professionals. A committee consisting of senior members who have niched their names in esteemed positions in our profession will be nominated for the selection of the deserving professionals who will be conferred with this prestigious award.  

The award will consist of an official document pronouncing him /her as the best professional (in whatever category he/she has been selected) and a memento.  The achievements of these honourable professionals will be presented and it will be a memorable function for those who receive this award.  MALA requests all the members to kindly contribute to this gracious event for creating an Endowment  and cooperate to facilitate MALA, to cross one more milestone.  We hope and pray for an undeterred encouragement for this good cause from all of you.  

The eligibility and the other details are given in the application form.

1. Applicant/Nominee should be a citizen of India/Member of MALA and his/her conduct must be good.

2. The applicant should be a working library professional who holds at least a degree in library science or its equivalent.

3. Interested professionals should apply online mode only through official MALA Website

4. Nomination can be self or by a responsible library professional

5. Give full details for each category and attach support documents for verification

6. Applications without full details and support documents will be rejected

7. Last date for application is on or before 31.7.2021. 5 PM, The decision of the committee constituted by MALA to select the candidate for the award is final.

8. The Award Committee has the right to postpone or cancel the award for any unavoidable reason.
